Death

Death, it surrounds me
The inevitable destination of reality
The astral plane that takes you from one dimension to the next through flight
A dark cloak that envelopes us to see the light
It’s the controversial story with a contradictory message
Came to live on a life line and gone on the notes of old scripture passage
Tears flood to fill the hole, the void left by absence
Conflicted by the many smiles on the other side which greet the presence
The chains that bound mortal flesh through gravity
Are made null and void as limits are broken through immortality
Physics, science all child’s play, fool’s gold in God’s hand
Reasons for a loved one’s departure the human mind will never understand…
Why?
The consolation is the ironic prize of being alone
With all memories stuck like a postage stamp onto the tombstone
The only constant, the reminder of what comes after life and before judgment
The final wave before curtain call to the cast that took part in your life
Deep in the script the final lines were read with great strife
Death causes bottled up emotions to shake and spill causing weary eyes to cry
Death an unwanted visitor to many countries its universal language “Goodbye”
